Direct Air Capture Lifecycle Analysis Tool
Direct Air Capture (DAC) is a technology for extracting carbon dioxide from the atmosphere for sequestration or for use. Quantifying the energy and input requirements of different DAC implementations is critical for understanding the net greenhouse gas removals that can be delivered by DAC.
Cerulogy developed a calculation tool for the Clean Air Task Force to allow users to explore the lifecycle energy demand and emissions for per kg of CO2 captured using two different DAC technologies. Parameters that can be varied include sorbent type, electricity and heat source, utilisation factor, and more.
